New Mexico Green Chili Stew
8 New Mexico green Chilis(roasted and peeled)
1/2 Onion (diced)
1t. Garlic powder
1lb. Ground Beef or round steak cut in very small pieces
1 Potato (peeled and diced)
4 cups Water (approx.)
1 diced Tomato
Salt and Pepper to taste

Green Chili Stew
Add garlic powder to green chili and chop finely. Set aside. On medium heat, brown meat in a frying pan or skillet. If using ground beef, drain grease, if using steak, add about 1 t. oil, just enough to fry steak. Add onions and potato and fry for about 1 minute, stirring constantly. Add green chili and water and stir. Then stir in salt and pepper, adding tomato afterwards. Bring to a boil and simmer for about 3-5 minutes if using ground beef, or until potatoes are tender. If using steak, simmer for about 10 minutes, or until meat is tender.
